Joyce Williams earned her B.F.A. in Communication Design from Kutztown University in 1991 and her Post Baccalaureate Certification in Art Education in May 2022 from Millersville University. She will finish her M. ED. Art Education in 2022. Joyce has over 20+ years of experience working professionally as a graphic designer, and web designer. While working at Roland Park Country School, she led instruction for faculty workshops in creating websites and visual content. In addition, Joyce taught classes in desktop publishing, dynamic graphics for the web, and summer camp classes in animation.

 

Joyce completed her student teaching at both the high school and elementary levels. She student taught at Hempfield High School in Lancaster, PA, in Fundamental Design and Hot Glass I & II classes. She instructed students in the principles and elements of design. In the Red Lion Area School District, Joyce taught at Locust Grove Elementary and North Hopewell-Winterstown Elementary. She created and taught lessons in art for students in kindergarten to sixth grade to 600+ students. In addition, Joyce engaged students in the artistic studio process while growing their understanding of art history.

 

For the last two years, Joyce has worked as a graduate assistant to Dr. Leslie Gates in the art education department at Millersville University. She provided administrative support and data management. During the virtual learning due to the COVID-19, Joyce oversaw two book discussion groups remotely over Zoom. In addition, she has worked as a substitute in the Cecil County Public Schools in Cecil County, Maryland.
